7 Real Estate staging tips to attract buyers

This is your home and you have created a lot of memories here. I get it. I love our home too and have family photos EVERYWHERE. But when you go to sell, it’s advisable to start packing these items early and remove them before the open house. These personal items remind buyers that you live there. That this is your life. You want the buyer to start thinking about your house as their new home. Do not let your buyers get distracted by your style and taste. Let them assess the house based on its features and give them room to see themselves in the space.

Outdoors: First impressions are important! Tip 1: Spruce up your porch and front entrance by adding some decorative elements like potted plants or outdoor lanterns

Kitchen: For many, the kitchen is the heart of the home. It should be clean and inviting. Tip 2: Remove everything from countertops except a few signature pieces; add a bowl of lemons or potted plant

Entryway: Even small entryways can be beautiful with simple finishing touches. Tip 3: Make sure the entryway is completely clutter free with space for shoes and coats

Living Room: This room should ideally have a wow factor. It should feel spacious, relaxing, and comfortable. Tip 4: Remove everything from the living area that is not essential. You do not want potential buyers sidestepping or tripping over items. This will help with the flow of the room and give the illusion of more space

Children’s Bedrooms: Children’s rooms are often colorful and busy. Decluttering is paramount. Tip 5: Organize toys and books in baskets and plastic bins for easy removal during showings

Bedrooms: Should feel like restful sanctuaries from everyday life. Tip 6: Make beds with clean and coordinated linens in solid colors or simple patterns. If you don’t own a complete bed set, you can easily pick one up at reasonable prices at stores like TJ Maxx or At Home

Bathrooms: Ever been in a high-end beautiful bathroom at an open house or upscale hotel? It’s gorgeous, but some things are usually not visible…clutter, and reminders that you need to clean it! Tip 7: Hide bathroom supplies: plungers, toilet bowl brushes, stacks of extra toilet paper, and be sure to empty garbage bins

These are just a few tips to get you started!
